A tapestry is a woven picture, thin as fabric, or thick as a rug, and they're made all over the world. There are pieces for every style of home design. The hardest part is choosing just the right one (samples shown just represent a variety of styles, the actual pieces vary). The size of the tapestry will determine the size of the table top. Thick glass is placed over the tapestry and sides are sealed to allow regular use. They can be used for headboards too, minus the glass.
